Pratt-Read specializes in the manufacture of screwdrivers and we pride ourselves in making some of the best screwdrivers available in today’s marketplace. Every day is dedicated to manufacturing the highest quality, 100% USA made screwdrivers. We control the entire process and manufacture the complete product; handles, blades and assembly.
Our handles are made from Cellulose Acetate, a renewable natural resource derived from wood pulp. Cellulose Acetate is a rugged, impact and chemical resistant material that is not a petroleum-based product. All our handle designs are contoured to fit comfortably in the hand and they are “right sized” to offer maximum turning power without over-torquing and causing damage to the driver tip or the fastener.
All screwdriver blades are made from Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum Alloy Steel. Each tip is manufactured to tight tolerances for sure and accurate fastener fit. They all undergo a specialized heat treat process that produces the maximum strength and durability.
Each and every driver must meet or exceed industry standards and specifications. All tools must pass a series of rigorous testing criteria for dimensional characteristics, environmental and physical performance.

Our team has spent the past two years researching the overall markets for fasteners and the tools that drive them. We sent research teams into the field to talk to construction, HVAC, electrical contractors and automotive service technicians. We interviewed homeowners, model makers, inventers and many other users of driver product to gather information. We then used focus groups to test our findings.
The research drove us to reinvent our product lines and incorporate many new features. Our expanded offering will meet a wide range of job requirements. New packaging and merchandising material was developed to bring the right product mix to market. Educational information on the packaging helps your customer select the best set for their needs and bring them back to your store for future needs.
