Everything is different about our set packaging. Focus group studies have indicated that typical screwdriver set packages shown at retail do little more than hold the product. Add to this, a confusing array of set promotions that offer many of the same screwdrivers in what are suppose to be different sets and you risk frustrating the consumer rather than helping them buy what they need. At best, you sell them a screwdriver set once, and probably never again. Are your customers shaking their heads or turning them toward your selection.

Here's what's so different. With very few exceptions, Pratt-Read sets are made up of unique items. That's right no duplicates! Now instead of customers buying your high piece count, low margin set that is on sale, they will buy what they need on their first visit and come back to your store to build a more complete tool assortment as the need arises. Let's face it; those 40 and 80 piece sets that are on sale mostly contain low cost items that add to the piece count when in fact few people rarely, if ever, need most of them. More importantly, you will probably never sell that customer another screwdriver set again.

Easy as 1-2-3 packaging promotes repeat sales at your store through a "toolbox building" strategy. By using Easy as 1-2-3 icons on the lower right corner of each package we help the customer quickly identify whether the set contains
1-Essential, 2-Specialized, or 3-Professional tools. The back of the package further explains all the additional sets available in each series. That's what brings them back to your store.

We like long term customers . . . if we do our job right, we hope you will become one of ours!

NOTE: We have also added a complete new color-coded bulk screwdriver merchandising program. Ask us for more details or review our Modular Fixture System Section.

What do the 1, 2, 3 icons mean?

When your customer first arrives at your screwdriver section we want them to find something on the packages that draws their attention. They will see a series of sets with the same icon in the lower right corner of the package. We hope this will get them to look closer. When they do, they will see a statement that reads: "Look for other sets in this series. See back for details."

On the back will be a chart giving them information on what the different icons stand for and what other sets are included in each series. A description and part number will list the sets in each series.
