• Always use protective gear. To minimize risk of injury, always wear eye protection that meets ANSI Z87.1 requirements.
• When using a screwdriver, always, whenever possible, position the tip directly over the fastener to completely engage the tip before turning. A misaligned screwdriver will definitely damage the fastener and over time, will eventually cause excessive wear and tip failure.
• Use the correct size tip for the size of screw head. This will help prevent the tool from slipping. If the tip is too wide it will scar the screw head.
• Always use each type of screwdriver for its intended use. Never use a screwdriver as a pry bar, chisel, punch, scraper or alignment tool. You will most likely ruin the tool, cause damage to your work and possibly risk injuring yourself.
• Never grind or subject the tip to heat. Heat can affect the temper of the metal and weaken the tool.
